Distribution of Tuberculosis across the world:
- 1/3rd of the world population is affected with TB[1]
- New infections occur at a rate of 1 per second[1].
- As not all TB infections cause disease, there are asymptomatic TB prevalent too.
- In 2010 there were 8.8 million new cases and 1.45 million deaths, mostly in developing countries[1]

- 95% of all tuberculosis cases in the world occur in developing countries[2].
- Tuberculosis is prevalent in Russia, India, South East Asia, Sub Saharan Africa, parts of Latin America[2].
- Countries with High prevalence of HIV have the greatest TB burden[2]
